Dog Days Day Care, located in North Vancouver, B.C. offers special programs for dogs that need a higher level
of attention and care. Although regular dog daycare may not be an option
for your dog, we can set up a program designed to focus on the specific
issues your dog is experiencing. By working one-on-one with your
dog, we hope to deal with the special needs of your dog, making
them more comfortable, and your interactions (while on the trail,
at the doggy park
) more positive. By consulting with select
trainers, behaviorists, and regularly attending seminars and workshops,
Dog Days provides handling and care using positive, motivational
methods.
Short, positive, closely-monitored sessions have proven to be the
most beneficial and successful. To ensure a comfortable & positive
environment, Dog Days reserves the right to limit the attendance
of special needs dogs.
By interviewing all our dogs first and allowing only one new dog to start at our dog daycare on any given day, we can dedicate the time necessary to get to know each of our dogs properly. With four separate play areas inside, we are able to organize appropriate dogs together. As well, we can keep dogs apart from the others until they are ready. By doing this, dogs are able to work into a group comfortably and at their own speed. During the day we have play sessions, do some confidence work and have lots of one-on-one cuddling. All activities are monitored and the dogs are shown how to interact in a controlled and positive manner. In the afternoon, we have a quiet time when the dogs lay down for a nap, chomp on a bone or watch a video. We finish each dog's day with a rub down and a brush so they're looking and feeling good. At Dog Days Day Care we treat each dog as an individual. Every dog that comes to us has a unique history and as parents, we understand that you have specific expectations and needs. Starting with your interview, we like to develop an ongoing relationship by keeping up-to-date with your dog. We encourage discussions regarding health, behaviour and lifestyle with each visit. We hope to provide support to our parents through advice, references and regular seminars
